Rawlinna
Fascinating little community. Signs of yesteryear activities are everywhere when these small railway maintenance towns dotted the East-West railway line, now Rawlinna is home to about 5 or six houses ( 2 abandoned relics), the remains of the Primary school yard with its pre - OHS playground . Each year the Rawlinna Muster brings in about a thousand people for a few days of fun in the outback, missed that by a month but will try to get here next year. The southern end of the Connie Sue highway ( Dirt track) is just a hundred meters east of town. There is no fuel or accommodation here, just the local railway maintenance workers homes. The place still has some street lights on at night but its essentially a ghost town.
